A Pond’s Chorus by Mifi Mifi presents a series of sculptural wearables, framed works, and small floor sculptures constructed around the watery realms of a pond's haven. An array of hung textile works stream throughout the space along with silk paintings, where colours bloom and blend. The works are dipped in natural dyes, reflecting rich wetland hues shimmering on silk.

Reflections on the water appear like a veil of pink sky at dusk with green dyes floating like lily pads on translucent silk. Hand stitching runs in and out through the works, as if guided by the gentle sway of the breeze. Ripples of magenta glimmering under the sun, mirroring the serene interludes at the water's edge. In these streams of silk, lies a realm adorned with the ever changing colours of the ethereal spirits that inhabit and connect us to the natural world.

Mifi Mifi’s sculptural wearables are experiments with pigments found in plants, inspired by the seasonal changes of her environment. She paints on her hand-dyed silk, creating poetic imagery that is imbued with the memory and spirit of her interactions with the natural world. Mifi Mifi describes her work as an act of spiritual practice. She embraces the ambiguous medium of natural dyes and water-based pigments, finding harmony between the material, texture and fluidity, allowing the images to appear.
